Peoria Firefighters Union - IAFF Local 50Welcome to the home of the Peoria Firefighters Union IAFF Local 50. The members of this proud organization have served the citizens of the mid-western city of Peoria, IL since February 7th, 1875 when the Peoria Fire Department was first organized as a fully paid fire department. Since that first day, our goal is and will always be to protect the lives and property of the citizens of our great city. Through the years, our services have grown from fire fighting to also include technical rescue, dive-swift water rescue, HAZMAT, fire safety inspections, public education and now ALS or Paramedic level EMS services. Our career is ever changing and ever growing. As an organization, we promote being active in the community we protect through charity fund raising, involvement in local-state government and educational programs that don't just end when we leave the fire house. Local 50 has been a proud fundraiser for organizations such as The Boys and Girls Club, The Butch Gudat Fund, MDA, United Way, the Tim Ardis Foundation and many more. Please, take a minutes to look around our site to find out a little more about us.
